Wilderness therapeutic program for groups

A wilderness therapeutic group intervention supports young people with difficulties through a connection to nature, wilderness activities and therapeutic practice. The aim is to support individuals to improve outcomes for difficulties they may be having and work through the 5 pillars of emotional intelligence and 6 pillars of true self-esteem. A referral form and pre-visit meeting with the referral organisation will indicate individual targets. The program will be tailored to the group and individual needs. A full report for the program and each client including data on improvement will be provided.

Small group session (Max 8 participants).

Delivered in the New Forest at our 1.5 acre woodland. 

Cost £2500 per program (8 sessions). 

£300 for each additional session. Some young people may need a longer program.  

Wilderness therapeutic program outreach 

A wilderness program adapted to the individual and group needs, and the grounds of the referral organisation as stated above but we can also deliver on other sites if the right green space is available.

A suitable space would be a forest school area, woodland or wild area out of view of other young people. This needs to be approved by Terravita WTP before a booking can be accepted. 

Small group session (Max 8 participants)

£2500 per program (8 sessions) + travel costs of session leader at 26p per mile from SO45.

Any costs of using a site not owned/managed by Terravita WTP is incurred by the referral organisation i.e. hire costs.

Woodland rental - 1.5 acres

£100 for a 4 hour rental subject to meeting Terravita WTP ethical guidelines and approval. 

Multiple rental session bookings - If 6 or more rental sessions are booked together, there will be a 20% discount applied.

All bookings are subject to approval by Terravita WTP before a booking can be confirmed or accepted.

What does a program look like? 

Activities may include team building activities, fire skills, outdoor cooking, shelter building, low ropes work, natural craft activities, green wood work, survival skills, mindfulness and wildlife exploration alongside therapeutic practices. 

Each session lasts 2 ½ hours. 

Small group session (Max 8 participants) - must be same participants throughout a program.

A minimum of 8 sessions. 

Includes pre-program referral meeting, analysis of SDQ results from young person and referral organisation. 

Post analysis of SDQ results from young person, referral organisation and practitioner. 

A written impact report will be completed and supplied to the referral organisation.

The booking process: 

Please arrange a Teams or phone meeting with Terravita WTP to discuss your group and organisation requirements or contact us to request a referral form.

The referral organisation must supply at least 1 member of staff to support the group and leader for the duration of the program.
